Life is beckoning, urging you to drop your pretenses and become your true self. Success, life’s purpose and prosperity are right around the corner. Stop waiting and take control. It all starts with action: Pick up the phone – answer the positivity call! So is the call to come to our 12th annual fall retreat.
Life calls us all, but how many of us hear it and if we do hear it, how many answer the call… As speaker on positivity for the past 25 years, I have spoken with thousands of women across the country, I know many do not know “how” to listen or “how” to take action when life’s cell phone rings.
Why? Perhaps they are afraid of what the call is saying or maybe they are used to making excuses why the call cannot possibly be for them. This is why I chose the “Your Life is calling” theme for this year’s retreat. I see many people paralyzed or at least in a holding pattern in life and I wanted to let you know, it doesn’t have to be that way.
I was talking with retreat presenter Marie Trigg a few months ago. Marie was a speaker at last year’s retreat and was a hit, as I knew she would be. Marie is one of the bravest women I know. She was raised on a cattle ranch in New Mexico, and she is what I call a frontier woman, as well as a Registered Nurse, property diva and entrepreneur. In this conversation, we were talking about what type of presentation she would make this year. Somehow, we got into a conversation about her dad and she quoted her father: You can do anything you’re Big Enough to Do. When she spoke those words I stopped her. I recognized that as the title of her presentation, and from there… well an amazing talk has been created.
Listening skills … another skill needed when the Universe is calling. Sarah-Elizabeth Anderson is not only a fabulous massage therapist, she is a Restorative Circle facilitator. I saw her in action, teaching workshops on how to listen. “Communication is key to creating nurturing relationships. Listening in order to understand the feelings and needs of others is one way to nurture empathy in relationship.” Well, you guessed it; we had to have Sarah-Elizabeth with us for the weekend. I’m hoping she’ll also touch upon how to listen to our own selves as well.
I asked Molly Salans, Counselor and Constellation Consultant what advice she gives people who know they need to make changes, but are not sure where to start. She quoted a poem “I dreamt last night, o marvelous error, that there was a beehive inside my heart, and the golden bees were making white combs and sweet honey out of my old failures.” By Antonio Machado. Her answer: understanding our ancestral lineage, and rekindling that inner spark of life that is always the way to propel your life and your own truth with more love than you can imagine! Humm, I think she is on to something. I love the idea of going back in my own time line and figuring out how my past has influenced my future. When I can realize what has been holding me back …I can make the changes I need to propel my own life and Walla – transform.
Lynn Durham RN, author, speaker and coach always reminds me to look how life invites us to dance! “ The dance of life is always moving, it has its own rhythm and timing and sometimes shows you, you are more than you ever imagine.” That is so true. I love spending time with her as she always gets me to think. You will too.
In speaking with retreat presenter Omi Preheim– she was explaining to me that current cosmic alignments are making a big impact in the world. “Whether you are a news junkie or prefer not to listen, it’s impossible to avoid the constant blare of 24-hour information. Perhaps you feel powerless to do anything and the noise has you caught up in fight, flight or even freeze. Because you don’t know exactly what to do, you do nothing. While we may recognize change is necessary, it is very human to avoid it when scared and feel like everything is out of control.” Tell me more Omi, tell me more. I can’t wait.
I had breakfast today with dear friend Kathleen Veth, who will host the workshop “What are You Worth?” I love to sit with her and soak up her wisdom. She reminds me, “Caring and coping skills women learned as daughters, wives, mothers, friends, and employees do not always translate into powerful pluses in the business world.” She is so right. Her thought-provoking, interactive workshop is the perfect tonic for any woman who has difficulty recognizing her value and will enhance the confidence of those who do. A great reminder for us all.
I am very excited about our faculty as I only ask only women to speak that I want to hear and I can grow from. We have a few slots left – Do you hear your life calling? It’s time to take the call, pick up the phone and transform. And oh yes…have fun doing it.
